#Brexit: Theresa May besöker Berlin och Paris

Theresa-MayBritish Prime Minister Theresa May will make her first overseas visit this week. While May campaigned for a ‘Remain’ vote in the UK’s EU referendum, she has said that she will respect the will of the British people and assured her party that Brexit would mean Brexit.

På onsdag (20 juli), following Prime Minister’s Questions, May will travel to Berlin for a bilateral meeting and a working dinner with Chancellor Angela Merkel. The discussions will cover co-operation on a range of global challenges, and on how the UK and Germany can work together as the UK prepares to leave the EU.

The UK is not yet clear about what sort of a relationship it can realistically have with the EU but it is likely the government will want to maintain links in areas that are of common interest. At a meeting of justice and home affairs ministers before the UK’s vote, May argued that EU co-operation made Europe more secure.
